Institutional history/Biography
Francesco Turci was born in Forlì on 1 February 1913 and died in Riolo Terme (RA) on 10 April 1984. He graduated with honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna, benefiting from a scholarship, set up by Mr and Mrs Pedrali, generous patrons of Forlì, and managed by the Province of Forlì, in favour of the two most deserving students in the province. He practised as a district doctor (today a general practitioner) for over forty years.
. During this long period of activity, he collected and preserved a large amount of promotional, advertising and scientific material, specialised magazines, packages of medical essays, gadgets.
In the early 2000s, his daughter, Maria Clelia Turci, who worked as marketing director in several pharmaceutical companies, began to sort her father's documents, dividing them up by type and manufacturer.
There are several thousand pieces. It is important to point out that, analysing the material from an iconographic point of view, there have been many contributions from important artists, illustrators, designers (Aligi Sassu, Marcello Dudovich, Guido Crepax, Serafino Campi, Gino Boccasile, Pino Tovaglia, Franco Grignani and others).

The collection has been divided into several sections. There are house organs of very important companies and magazines such as “Tempo medico”, with covers by Guido Crepax (1958-1985), “Bellezze d’Italia”, “Minerva medica” and others, sometimes complete collections.
