The corporate press originated as a tool of information, engagement and training for the employee community, a means of enhancing corporate relations that has made many company magazines and newsletters a valuable source for documenting everyday work in the company. Another important role played historically by house organs concerns the construction of the public image of companies.
Throughout its history, Bracco has published three house organs: the Notiziario Bracco (1962-1969), Bracco 3 (1967-1970) and bracco.com (1998-2007).
And here is from the lively words of Dr Fulvio Bracco speaking about the birth of the company’s first house organ:
‘With this first issue, the ‘Notiziario Bracco” is born, the magazine of social information dedicated to Company employees. It is important for everyone to get to know each other and the Company they are part of and work for. It is my intention to make all employees more familiar through this publication with the environment in which they work, the life of the Company and all the events connected with it”.

The publication devotes a great deal of space to the company’s internal activities, with special reference to those of the company’s after-work club, with sections on sports (soccer, fishing, and bocce tournaments), photography (photo contests), tourism (company outings, camps for employees’ children), and the one dedicated to the company library. The activities of the sections are documented by a rich contribution of photographs, as well as there are many pictures related to the Epiphany celebration, with the distribution of gifts to children, Carnival, and Easter.
From the very first issue, there is a “Notizie di casa nostra” (News of Our House) section with information on employee marriages and births. Later, the “Quattro chiacchiere con” (Four Chats with …) space is inaugurated with short interviews and pictures made of Bracco employees and the “cassetta delle idee” (box of ideas) for improvement proposals in the work area by employees.
In the newsletter, in addition to after-work activities with detailed reports and promotional pages to increase membership, important information concerning the company is provided, such as awards to senior employees, participation in medical conferences and plant visits.
