Farabola

Biography / History
Son of art, Tullio Farabola (1920-1983) began working in photography in 1939, working with his father Alessandro, known as Giuseppe. Called up for military service in 1940, he was transferred as a cameraman at the Istituto LUCE in Rome, where he met Adolfo Porry Pastorel, creator of the VEDO agency, which became a point of reference for him.

In 1943, Farabola returned to Milan, where he worked as a cameraman for the Istituto LUCE. In 1943, Farabola returned to Milan and here he followed the final moments of the war, continuing his work of photojournalistic documentation in the following years, bearing witness to the difficulties of a city brought to its knees by bombing and starvation, the suffering of the people but also the slow path of reconstruction. The photojournalistic reportage was accompanied by black and white portraits and the covers of important magazines of the time, as well as the birth of the Farabolafoto agency.
